Travelling is amazing and fun, however, let us not forget the stress factor. Stress is a huge part of travelling, so wherever we can, we must try to eliminate any worries that could cross our path. Why not start with making an informed decision on the travel luggage that suits your needs.
Suitcase or Backpack
First things first, consider what it is that you need to pack as well as what type of trip you are going on. When it comes to convenience, a suitcase is the clear winner as it is so much easier to manoeuvre through the airport. Another point is that backpacks are just that, a carry-on, no wheels, and at some point, you may feel like you are living a live-action of Queen’s hit “Under pressure” thanks to the weight of your luggage.
Length of the Trip
If you are wanting to travel light and maybe you are taking an overnight trip, then a backpack is great, just pack the essentials, it is quick and easy to throw over your shoulder and go. However, if you are going for a little longer or find that you need to prepare documents, carry your laptop and take clothes with you on a business trip, then a backpack may be a train smash. Your documents will probably be crumpled, your clothes definitely will not be found as you packed them and you may start feeling fatigued carrying that bag on your shoulder.
Type of Trip
When it comes to business trips, the look and feel of a suitcase is just a little more suave and professional than what a backpack has to offer. Although backpacks offer more convenience with extra side pockets and ease of access, you may prefer a suitcase if you are carrying more valuable items. Backpacks though are super handy for those travelling with children who may need access to the contents of the bag more often.
Suitcase Die Hards
If you are a die-hard suitcase fan, then maybe the question is not, what type of luggage should I use, maybe the question is, “hard shell or soft shell?”. Find out more about hard and soft shell suitcases here. (Link to be added)
Right Travel Luggage, In a Nutshell
Ultimately, there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to selecting luggage. Be sure to recognize your needs, the length of your trip, the kind of luggage you will be travelling with, as well as the type of trip you will be going on. Once considered, choosing the type of luggage that is right for you, will be a piece of cake!
